This is an advanced course in basic web design, coding, authoring and building as well as the practical applications of Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash in web projects. Additionally, students will be continue to work with ActionScript programming and Search Engine Optimization. The course examines the technologies, terminology and processes of web design as established in the World Wide Web Consortium (WC3) standards. Each student will continue to expand their knowledge and understanding of (X)HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), as well as in-depth understanding of how to use Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash to design, code, author and build web pages. The principles of design theory as they relate to building web sites will continue to be explored. Through hands on, directed projects students will develop their graphic design and problem solving abilities with respect to web design. Web Standards, valid code and best practices will be emphasized.
This course is designed as a “project” orientated class. Students will spend the majority of their time working on web development projects that target specific aspects of web development.

Class emphasis is on learning best practice design, authoring and coding strategies as related to web design and development. Additional emphasis is placed on proper use of software tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash and Adobe Photoshop to accomplish these goals. All students who successfully complete the course will be able to design, code, author, build and implement a live, advanced website showcasing design and communication skills.
